SECURING AND PRESERVING THE PLANET
Unison Environmental Sustainability Foundation (UESF) core is a simple but powerful belief: we all depend on the natural environment for our livelihoods and well-being, and environmental security is a fundamental human right. For millions of people around the world, environmental degradation means hunger, poverty and vulnerability.
From the climate crisis to the loss of forests and the devastation of ocean ecosystems, the most vulnerable, marginalised and disempowered communities bear the brunt. We’re working with, and for those on the frontlines of environmental destruction to investigate, document and expose environmental and human rights abuses. We take local fights to the very heart of governments and businesses worldwide to secure lasting, global change.

A Humble Message from the CEO
I am proud of the actions we have taken to weave sustainability more deeply into our culture, driving our decisions today and setting the foundation for our future. I am grateful for the Governance Board and our many partners who give us the confidence to have a bold vision, and for the passion of the Unison Environmental Sustainability Foundation (UESF) team, which is dedicated to driving innovation and creating a more sustainable future. Doing what is right for the environment, for the planet, is more than just one small decision – it’s billions of them. And making real change happen begins with each of us and the choices we make every day.
In all of the steps we’ve taken, acting ethically and with integrity while respecting people and caring for the planet was at the heart of our decisions. Because it is both the right thing to do and it is how we make an impact that matters for our people, clients and society.
